Leslie (leslielanephotography.com) approached me in February of 2010 for a new website for her photography business. She wanted her website to be listed on the 1st page of Google for the key phrases "Bethesda children photography", "Bethesda newborn photography", and "Bethesda pet photography" among others. I could really see from Leslie's photos that she has a passion for her work so I really took this project to heart going above-and-beyond to get her the results she deserves.

After doing the appropriate keyword research, I created her a new website using WordPress. I installed a customized photographer theme as well as a variety of custom WordPress plugins for social bookmarking, search engine optimization, photo viewing, and style. I uploaded all her photos in to my gallery plugin, created a functional contact form, created an XML sitemap for Google, and finally created her photography blog. This is Leslie's photo gallery. When a photo is clicked it enlarges using Lightbox. My gallery Wordpress plugin also allows visitors to view a slideshow.

Leslie's photography blog runs in Wordpress using a variety of plugins. Each post allows for user comments and displays social networking links to sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Digg which helps to build link backs.

The gallery manager allows photographers to create new galleries and albums to display new photos. The manager allows administrators to upload photos through a convenient uploader rather than using FTP.

The photo manager lets administrators edit titles and alts for each image in the gallery as well as order, crop, edit, add tags, resize, create thumbnails, delete, and much more. The photo manager I use for photography websites is extremely intuitive.

The most important aspect of this project was SEO. Without search engine results, it would be hard for any website to generate business. I optimized Leslie's website for about 10 key phrases; the most important key phrases were "Bethesda children photography", "Bethesda newborn photography", and "Bethesda pet photography". In under to weeks I was able to get Leslie's website on the 1st page of Google for all three of her primary key phrases. You can see proof in the form of screenshots of my amazing SEO results below.
